Background
Beta-amyloid 1-42 (Aβ42) is the 42-residue proteolytic fragment of the amyloid precursor protein (APP) whose propensity to oligomerize and fibrillize places it at the center of the amyloid hypothesis of Alzheimer's disease — the longer C-terminal sequence makes Aβ42 the first species to nucleate plaques. The therapeutic landscape shifted decisively with plaque-clearing antibodies aducanumab, lecanemab and donanemab, renewing demand for well-defined Aβ reagents in anti-Aβ screening, epitope mapping and AD biomarker immunoassays. Presented as a soluble GST/His fusion for expression yield and assay convenience, this construct supports the growing Alzheimer's immunotherapeutics and diagnostics toolkit.

- Formulation
- Supplied in either a lyophilized powder or a ready-to-use liquid format. Buffer: PBS, pH 7.4, with 5% trehalose as cryoprotectant.
- Reconstitution
- Lyophilized: briefly centrifuge the vial before opening, reconstitute in sterile distilled water to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL, and let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes before aliquoting. Liquid: ready to use — thaw on ice and equilibrate.
- Storage
- Both lyophilized and liquid proteins are stable for 12 months at -40 °C to -80 °C. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -40 °C to -80 °C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
